Basic House SketchUp Assignment
Computers, Mr. Martin
Background: You have made a doghouse and a playhouse/shed in SketchUp. We are now progressing to a multi-room house. It is a simple house for two reasons. First, many new SketchUp skills are introduced. When learning new skills it is important to start simple. Second, the house represents the size (60 square meters or about 646 square feet) of a typical urban Habitat for Humanity house for needy families in Mexico. (See Habitat for Humanity Mexico) In contrast, the average new home size in the United States is about 2,500 square feet - about four times greater than the house you will be drawing in this assignment. (See, e.g., AmericanProfile.com, StarNewsOnline.com.)

- Use metric units. On SketchUp, go to Window, Model Info, Format: Decimal, Precision: 0.0001m
