Welcome to Mr. Martin's Teacher Web Site. You will find information about homework, our curriculum (what we study), our rules and procedures, links to other sites, and a link to my mail address. Just click on a link to the left. The site has a new look with school things separated from my technology museum. The homework page has a different look arranged by subject so you can go directly to your subject. The curriculum shows what we study and how it satisfies the State and Diocese Standards. The Rules and Procedures tell how the classes will operate.

Some of you have asked about computer programming. A relatively easy, yet powerful, programming language is Python. It is a free and open source language. You can download it for various operating systems from http://www.python.org/. While I just started to read it, an excellent on line beginning book about learning Python is: Jason R. Briggs, Snake Wrangling for Kids, Learning to Program with Python (2007). To get it go to: http://www.briggs.net.nz/log/writing/snake-wrangling-for-kids/. If you are using the exercises in that book you should use this link, http://www.pythonmac.org/packages/py24-fat/index.html, to download Python for a Mac. Let me know your experiences with Python. I'm learning Python also.
